More about the artists and the mural:

Mercedes Fernandez, a well-known artist in both Mexico and the U.S, designed the mural in 2003 with the assistance of 16 students from Raul Yzaguirre High School and Project Row Houses. “The mural to me represents everything. The streets represent the walk of life and the windows and doors represent each student’s thoughts and dreams for the future and what they hold dear,” she said. Houston Public Media
